It’s Time For Spring Cleaning

Every year a lot of us tend to get excited to start Spring Cleaning but others tend to get over whelm. Spring Cleaning from top to bottom may never become effortless, but you can make the project more manageable-and even enjoyable. Yes it’s time for Spring Cleaning.

Some don’t know where to start so it is great to always start in having a checklist of everything for this project. In the check-list will include all the spots you’ve most likely been neglecting and instructions on how to tackle them like a pro.

1 Cleaning Supplies

To start you will need pen and paper to write all of the supplies that you need. Check your cleaning supplies drawer and see if you have everything in hand so you can start tackling this project. Make sure that you split the supplies by room so you won’t get over welm. If you are doing your own cleaning mix or perfer a modern look cleaning bottles these are great.

Now remember that you are not cleaning the whole house in one day. You can split it in the weeks.

2 The List

Always make sure you have a list to keep track of everything that you need to do and what you have done.

It’s Time For Spring Cleaning

3 Living Room

It is easy to start as most sometimes tackle the kitchen first but It is easier to tackle the living room first. You can open the windows to let some air in the house and it helps while you dust. Also you can turn on a diffuser/humidifier with essential oils if you like.

• Get all the curtains off the windows and put them to wash.
• Pick up all random things that is there and put them where they belong
• Take out all the decor pillows and sofa cushions so you can vacuum the sofa.
• take off all the cushions sleeves and the decor pillow sleeves (if they are washable) and put them to wash. It not hit the pillows outside gently beat them to take off any dust . If you can vacuum them go for it.
• Dust all pictures on the walls, dust window blinds, dust everything that needs to be dusted , as does the T.V.
• Clean the windows and any glass surface
• Vacuum underneath the sofas, underneath living room tables and then the whole living room.
• (If you don’t have rugs on the floor then you sweep and mop)
• If you have rugs and have not deep washed them this is the time to do so.

4 Dining Room

It is always nice to see a clean dining room table. When clean it gives a nice warm feeling of invitation.

• Take off all curtain to wash if you haven’t already
• Clean off the dining room table and or coffee station if you have it in the dining room.
• Dust all the pictures and every thing you have hanging on the walls including light fixtures and fans.
• Wipe down all the tables
• Clean all the windows
• Clean the walls including boarders
• Vacuum the rug or sweep and mop if you don’t have a rug.

5 Kitchen

Now is the kitchen, Just when you stand in the middle of the kitchen you might get overwhelm but don’t. It is easy to start little by little It’s one of the project that will help you minimize and throw out those pesky bowls with no lids.

• First start by taking out everything from the drawers. Remember take it little by little.
• Throw out everything that you don’t use or that you are missing other pieces to it.
• Wipe down the inside of all drawers and cabinet.
• Put everything in its place
• Clean the refrigerator and wipe the inside
• Clean the microwave
• Clean back splash
• Wash all the dishes
• Wipe down all the walls and borders
• Clean the stove including the oven
• Clean and wipe down all counters
• Sweep the floor and mop

6 BathRooms

The bathroom is always a wake up call to make sure to have it clean. Even though is a simple task it always looks like it’s the hardest to tackle. With this one you can always start dusting.

• Dust any shelves and fake plants that you have.
• Clean windows
• Clean tub/shower
• Clean walls
• Clean Toilet
• Clean the Closet if you have any. ( get some affordable organization Products.)
• Clean out the drawers if you have any and wipe them down
• Clean the medicine cabinet and wipe down the mirror
• Clean the sink and counter
• Clean out the linen closet if you have any.
• Sweep and mop the floor.

7 Guess Room & Main Bedroom

So the bedrooms are in the house. You can clean to keep them clean, redecorate them and take out anything that you don’t need. Now there are two different ways that you can start. 1. you can start by cleaning the closet or 2. start by cleaning the bedroom.

• Clean the closet by purging clothing or shoes you don’t need nor want
• Take down all curtains to wash
• Take off all bedding to wash
• Clean all drawers and purge what you don’t use nor want
• Dust all light fixtures, fans walls, bed board, all dressers, night stands
• Clean all windows
• Clean all walls and boards
• Add some clean or new sheets
• Vacuum floor if it has rugs or sweep and mop.

8 Laundry Room

The laundry room is also a place that a lot of parents if many kids are usually in. No matter how many times you wash clothes many more appears. These babies are used regularly so cleaning them twice a year is good.

• Clean washing machine
• Clean dryer
• Clean dryer vent
• Clean lint trap
• Organize laundry supplies
• Redecorate
• Wipe walls
• Wipe baseboards
• Mop floors

9 Garage

So inside the garage most of us have our cars in them and others don’t so they use them as storage rooms. That is why it is important to purge and clean the garage at least twice a year.

• Open up garage door to air out the space
• Declutter tools, boxes
• Wipe down walls
• Sweep floor
• Clean windows
• Clean air conditioner
• Clean garage door and frame
• Replace batteries in garage door openers
• Clean windows

Through Out The House

• Replace air filters as needed
• Clean air vents/registers
• Clean light fixtures
• Sanitize door handles
• Sanitize light switches
• Replace light bulbs
• Replace smoke alarm batteries
