What Is Self-Care?
According to ISF say that The WHO 1998 definition is:
‘Self-Care is what people do for themselves to establish and maintain health and to prevent and deal with illness. It is a broad concept encompassing hygiene (general and personal), nutrition (type and quality of food eaten), lifestyle (sporting activities, leisure etc), environmental factors (living conditions, social habits, etc.) socio-economic factors (income level, cultural beliefs, etc.) and self-medication.’

What are the benefits of practicing self-care?
Self-care is anything you do to take care of yourself so you can stay physically, mentally, and emotionally well. Its benefits are better physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. Research suggests self-care promotes positive health outcomes, such as fostering resilience, living longer, and becoming better equipped to manage stress.
Now self-care does not mean that same to everyone. Different people will adopt different self-care practices, and even their own definition might change over time as it does by the changes in life. “What is self-care for one person will likely be different to someone else, and what’s self-care for you one day might not feel like self-care another day.
Is having time for Self-Care A Priority?
You have to make self-care a priority in life so you won’t feel burnt out because of daily work. Having time for self-care helps you understand yourself a little bit more like your living conditions, what comes first, helps in your daily habits, and much other stuff.
Life does through lots of curveballs but it does not have to feel like you are drowning in a glass half full. Engaging in self-care regularly could help you put your best foot forward.
Many say that self-care is self fish because they don’t have a good understanding of what is self-care. Understanding self-care will help you see your inner self if you are struggling with depression or even a loner. You can have self-care by going to the movies and going to eat by yourself and in those moments write down your goals and what do you want to change in your life.
Self-care matters in your life and there is so many things you can do.
- Take a walk and breath clean air
- Taking a nice hot bath while listening to instrumental music or a motivational podcast
- Cooking your favorite meal and sit outside while taking in great air and a nice atmosphere
- Shutting off social media for a few hours while you read a book
- If you have health issues going to the doctors to be seen
- Writing down your goals
- Give yourself a mani-pedi
- Do or go and get a relaxing facial
- Take a detox for your health
- Go to sleep in a decent hour
- Watch a movie
- And Many More
